Tribe takes hospitality back to its essence. Back to the nomadic days when any weary traveller was greeted with warmth, invited to feast and exchange stories, and rest in the comforts of home...a very comfortable home.

It is this return to core fundamentals that heralded the advent of "boutique" hotels - properties that defined themselves through individualized attention, genuine concern for the guests', needs and a sense of pride in delivering solutions not just service.

Tribe is a luxury boutique hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. It was recently selected by Conde Nast Traveller (UK) and Conde Nast Traveller (US) for the HOT LIST 2010. The hotel was also recently awarded a Wow Pick by Kiwi Collection as well as a listing on the prestigious Robb Report for their top 100 hotels in 2013.

The Rooms

The Tribe has 142 rooms which feature large LCD TV's, three phones, high speed internet connectivity, open plan bathrooms with high pressure showers, moon lighting and floor to ceiling mirrors and wireless Internet Connectivity.

The room types are divided into: 20 Standard Rooms, 100 Deluxe Rooms, 4 Superior Rooms, 5 Junior Suites, 5 Loft - Business Suites, 1 Ambassadorial Suite, 1 Presidential Suite and 1 Penthouse. Also available 4 Single Apartments, 1 Double Apartment.

Food & Drink

Tribe - The Village Market Hotel is adjacent to the The Village Market Shopping complex. It has an onsite gym in the Village Market as well as cinema, ten pin bowling alley, mini golf and great children facilities.

Epic, the in-house restaurant serves Continental cuisine with an exquisite African Fusion. It is open daily for lunch and dinner from 10h00 am to 10h30 pm.

The bar has a 26 seater capacity and the lounge area seats approximately 40 persons.

Conference facilities:

Consist of four boardrooms which consists of two rooms which can accommodate 20 persons as well as two 6 seater boardrooms, each with quality equipment on hand such as: Wireless internet access, whiteboard, flipchart and Audio Visual equipment via LCD displays, Wellness Spa, Gift Shop, Individualised travel services and a well-versed concier.

General Facilities

Tribe - Village Market Hotel, is attached to the trendy Village Market shopping and recreation complex, featuring over 150 shops, restaurants and services. Located in the up-market Gigiri suburb of Nairobi, The Village Market is East Africa's largest all in one concept shopping centre and boasts a water park , mini golf courses, 12 bowling lanes, 4 Nu Metro theatres, a modern health club, children's playground and activities, as well as an international food court. Other facilities include forex services , 7 banks and ATM's, a pharmacy and supermarket and various local and international travel operators.

The complex is also less than a mile from the United Nations headquarters, the US and Canadian Embassies and other diplomatic and non governmental agencies. The world class Muthaiga Golf Course is a 5 minute drive away as are a range of other activities.

The Village Market is situated about 10 kilometers from the humdrum of the hectic Nairobi city center. Gracefully standing tall in the leafy suburb along Limuru road, this marvelous shopping center exudes a serene and pristine ambience.

Inspired by the need to preserve cultural roots and also harness contemporary lifestyles, The Village Market settled on the village theme. This African village theme was defined by a togetherness and communal lifestyle which held the seams of the society together.

Every Friday, the Village Market hosts the city's largest covered crafts market aptly named the Maasai Market with over 350 craftsmen and artisans displaying their work for locals and visitors alike.
