Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before making a booking with African Retreat Tours & Travel Ltd. By confirming a safari or tour with us, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined below.

PAYMENT TERMS

African Retreat Tours & Travel Ltd. Recommends that all clients carefully review their safari itinerary before making payment.

RESERVATIONS

A deposit of 50% of the total safari cost is required to secure a confirmed booking.
The remaining balance must be settled at least 14 days prior to the departure date.

RATES

All quoted rates include:

  • Vehicle and driver/guide services as specified in the itinerary
  • Full-board meals during safari, Bed and breakfast in Nairobi
  • Entrance fees to national parks and reserves as specified in the itinerary

TRANSPORT

Transport will be provided as per the agreed quotation.
African Retreat Tours reserves the right to utilize the services of sub-contractors if necessary.
All safaris are conducted by English-speaking driver/guides. Other language-speaking guides may be arranged on request, subject to availability.

TOUR ALTERATIONS

We understand that travel plans may need adjustment. African Retreat Tours will make every reasonable effort to accommodate changes, subject to availability. Please note that modifications requested close to the travel date may limit accommodation or activity options.

The company reserves the right to:

  • Alter arrangements or cancel tours, when necessary (e.g., due to unforeseen circumstances), with prior notice to the client or agent.
  • Decline to accept or retain any participant whose behavior may interfere with the comfort or safety of others.

LIABILITY

African Retreat Tours takes every reasonable step to ensure your safety and enjoyment during your safari. However, the company cannot accept responsibility or liability for any illness, injury, death, loss, damage, expense, or claim of any kind.
African Retreat Tours and its agents act solely as intermediaries in arrangements involving hotels, lodges, transport providers, and other suppliers. As such, the company is not liable for injury, delay, loss, or damage arising from any cause beyond its control.
All claims are governed by the laws and courts of the country where the tour takes place. African Retreat Tours also reserves the right to subcontract any part of the services provided and cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of luggage or personal belongings.

CANCELLATIONS

In the event of a cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters, political unrest, terminal illness, or death, any payments made will be refunded, less any non-refundable hotel, airline, or bank charges incurred.

For other cancellations, the following charges will apply:

  • 25% of the total cost if cancelled 35–15 days before departure
  • 50% if cancelled 14–5 days before departure
  • 75% if cancelled 4–2 days before departure
  • 100% for cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour departure

African Retreat Tours will make every effort to minimize cancellation penalties charged by third-party providers.

Travel Insurance

African Retreat Tours strongly recommends that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Medical emergencies and evacuation
  • Loss or damage of personal belongings
  • Flight delays or cancellations

Please note that African Retreat Tours cannot accept responsibility for expenses or losses caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, political instability, airline delays, or actions of third parties not directly affiliated with African Retreat Tours

REVISIONS TO TERMS

These Terms and Conditions were last updated on October 10, 2025. African Retreat Tours reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any revisions will take effect immediately upon being posted on our website.
