03 Days: Kenya Short Safari To Amboseli


Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa's highest mountain Kilimanjaro lies some 250 kms south of Nairobi. The snow capped peak of Kilimanjaro rising above a saucer of clouds, dominates every aspect of Amboseli and forms a backdrop to an impressive display of wildlife. Many species of animals are found here i.e. lion, leopard, buffalo, elephants and other savannah game.

    Day One: Nairobi/Amboseli

    After breakfast, depart Nairobi and drive via the towns of Athol River, Naiad, Namnga and further left to Amboseli National Park to arrive in time for lunch at Amboseli Serena Lodge. Amboseli forms a backdrop to an impressive display of wildlife with its population Evening game viewing with Mt Kilimanjaro - the highest free Standing Mountain in the world, in the background. Amboseli National park is famous for its highest concentration of elephants, which have been researched on for over 30 years amongst other predators and wild game. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge, camouflaged in a forest of fever trees and palms. Meal plan (L, D) Approx travel time 5 hrs

    Day 02: Amboseli

    Early morning game viewing to explore the park further and thereafter breakfast at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Evening game viewing of this magnificent park. The park takes its name from Lake Amboseli, a seasonal swamp that attracts water birds and other migratory species and is also a quenching oasis for the plain game.

    Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. This evening will be marked with lots of entertainment of Masai dancers. Meal plan (B L D)

    Day Three: Amboseli / Nairobi

    After breakfast, you return to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Meal plan (B)

    Day One: Nairobi/Lake Nakuru

    Lake Nakuru lies in the Great Rift Valley and is one of the eight lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya. After breakfast a scenic drive along the descent of the Great Rift Valley towards one of the world ornithological wonders (Lake Nakuru). 

    The park is known for its seasonal multitudes of pink flamingoes, numerous large mammals can be found here i.e. leopards, rhinos and many herbivores including waterbucks. You will arrive in time for Lunch thereafter a short rest before proceeding for evening game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill. Meal Plan (L, D)

    Day two: Lake Nakuru / Masai Mara

    After a sumptuous breakfast we across the Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara is justly one of the best-known wildlife areas in Kenya. Here the herds of elephants browse amongst rich studded grasslands. 

    Thompson's gazelle, zebra, eland and many more species of Savannah game offer a rich choice for predatory lions, leopards and cheetahs. But even this richness of fauna and untouched life of Africa; continuing as it has for thousands of years, is secondary to the Mara; s annual migration of wildebeest. The spectacle of more than a million of these creatures moving as a great mass is the most breathtaking sights in nature. Arrive in the Mara in time for lunch. After an afternoon siesta, proceed for evening game viewing. Dinner and overnight will be at Mara Simba Lodge or similar. Meal plan (B, L, D)

    Day Three: Masai Mara Game Reserve

    The sheer enormity of the Mara and the abundance of exotic wildlife offer endless opportunities for excitement.  Today we spend this Full day in natural paradise among Zebra, giraffe, buffalo wildebeest, antelope and gazelle. We will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of acacia trees or lying low in the tall grass, in wait for the next prey. There is a good chance of spotting cheetah and if you are lucky, the shy leopard. Meal plan (B L, D)

    Day Four: Masai Mara/ Nairobi

    After breakfast, cross the Rift Valley to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon. Meal Plan (B)
