Kenya Beach & Honeymoon Safari
-
Your Kenya Safari and Beach Honeymoon begins with a sense of wonder. Upon arriving in Nairobi, you’ll skip the dusty roads and take a short, scenic flight into the Maasai Mara National Reserve. From the window of your light aircraft, the vastness of the plains stretches out like a velvet carpet.
You will check into a luxury tented camp where “camping” is a loose term—think copper bathtubs, plush king-sized beds, and private decks overlooking the Talek or Mara River. On your first afternoon, you’ll head out on a game drive. There is nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of seeing your first wild lion or watching a herd of elephants cross the path just meters away.
The highlight for many couples is the optional hot-air balloon safari on Day 3. Waking up before dawn is worth it when you find yourselves drifting over the Mara River as the sun paints the sky in shades of violet and gold. You’ll land in the middle of the plains for a “Great Migration” style breakfast, complete with white linen and chilled bubbly.
