Educational Safari in Kenya

Day 1: The Gateway to the Wild

Your journey begins in Nairobi. After settling in, we gather for an evening photography briefing. This is where we talk shop: long-lens technique, back-button focusing, and how to manage the massive amount of data you’re about to generate.
Day 2: Into the Great Rift Valley
Days 3–6: The Maasai Mara Intensive
Four full days in the Mara mean we don’t have to rush. If a leopard is sleeping in an acacia tree at noon, we have the luxury to wait for her to descend in the soft afternoon light.

The Hunt: We track cheetahs on the prowl, using high shutter speeds ( $1/2000s$ or faster) to freeze the blur of a $110 \text{ km/h}$ sprint.

The Light: We play with silhouettes against the “blood-orange” Kenyan sunsets and “dust-lighting” where the kicked-up soil of a buffalo herd creates a dreamlike, ethereal glow.
Day 7–8: The Liquid Gold of Lake Naivasha
We transition from the savannah to the water. A private boat safari on Lake Naivasha allows for low-angle shots of African Fish Eagles diving for prey.

Birding: Capture the spray of water as an eagle’s talons break the surface.

Macro & Landscapes: The yellow fever trees provide haunting textures and leading lines for environmental portraits of giraffes and waterbucks.
Day 9–11: Conservation & The Giants of Ol Pejeta
Heading north across the Equator, we reach Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This is where your photography takes on a deeper narrative.

The Northern White Rhinos: You will have the profound opportunity to document Najin and Fatu, the last two of their kind on Earth.

Chimpanzee Sanctuary: Use mid-range zooms ( $70-200mm$ ) to capture the human-like expressions of rescued chimps.

The Big Five: Ol Pejeta offers some of the cleanest backgrounds in Kenya for rhino and elephant portraits.
